Profile
Dr Hill’s research is focused on developing tissue engineering techniques to replicate and study how stem cells behave both in the formation of the brain’s neuronal networks and during the degeneration of nerve cells in neurodegenerative diseases, such as dementia.
He undertakes a multidisciplinary approach to accelerate the development of methods that produce and characterise human neuronal cells, with the aim of advancing the development of medical treatments.
Dr Hill is also researching how human neuronal cells can be used in development of biological computers as part of a £3m ‘brain on a chip’ project called ‘’.
He has media experience, having appeared on the likes of BBC Radio 4 and East Midlands Today.
